Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026 · Version 3.8 · Covers pdfzora.com and every PDFZora tool

This page explains what we do with your information when you use PDFZora, in ordinary language. Nothing here asks you to create an account or enter card details, and wherever a tool can do its work inside your browser, your file never leaves your device.

One thing worth saying at the start: we are a small, online-only service. We have written this policy in plain language and organized it so the key information is easy to find. We would rather describe our setup honestly than promise something we cannot stand behind. Anything here unclear? Email us and we will explain it, because a policy nobody understands is not much of a policy.

No account needed Temporary files cleared within an hour Personal data not sold Not used to train AI models

Your privacy in 30 seconds

The four things people ask us about most.

  • 1 hourthe longest a processing copy stays on our servers (60 minutes, from when the task finishes)
  • Zeroaccounts, passwords or card details we ask you for
  • Zeropersonal data we sell or trade
  • Zerodocuments used to train AI models

01Purpose of this policy

This policy tells you what information PDFZora collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers every page, tool and blog post on pdfzora.com, our contact form, the cookies we use, and information relating to children.

This is the master description of how PDFZora handles personal information, and the complete privacy notice for the site. A tool page, a blog post, or a security, cookie or terms page should follow it. If another page says something different about files, retention, cookies, analytics, advertising or AI, rely on this one.

It does not cover the third-party websites we link to, or what another service does with a file once you upload it there. Those sites have their own policies, and they are worth reading.

02Who we are, and our role

PDFZora (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs pdfzora.com. Our legal role can differ from one situation to the next. When you use a tool, we generally decide how your information is handled and take the responsibilities that come with that. When you upload a document that contains someone else’s personal information, you hold those responsibilities for the contents of that document, and we handle it only to carry out the task you asked for.

Our details

PDFZora is an independent, online-only service, operated from India and available worldwide through this website. We do not keep a public office or a walk-in address, so email is the quickest way to reach us.

Email — info@pdfzora.com · Website — pdfzora.com

This policy is governed by the laws of India.

If a document includes someone else’s personal information, please make sure you are allowed to upload it. You stay responsible for that content. We use it only to complete your request, and access to the file is limited as section 05 describes.

03What we collect — and what we don’t

We keep collection to a minimum. Depending on which tool you use, this is the information involved:

  • Files you choose to process. A tool may work on the file inside your browser, or send it for temporary processing on our servers. The tool page tells you which applies and what the limits are.
  • Connection and log data. Your IP address, the date and time you visit, the pages and tools you open, the page you arrived from, and the standard access logs our hosting and security setup create. This is what keeps the site secure and working properly.
  • Device and browser details. Your browser type and version, your operating system, and the kind of device you are using.
  • Usage and analytics data. Which tools are used, whether a task completed, error messages, and general file type or size ranges. This comes to us through Google Analytics — see section 07.
  • Cookie and preference data. Your theme and language settings, plus the cookies listed in section 07.
  • What you send us. Through the contact form: your name, email address and message, plus a phone number if you choose to fill that field in.

These are the main categories of information involved in operating PDFZora today. You also do not need to give us any of the following:

  • Account details. Nothing on PDFZora today asks you to sign up, and there is no username or password to remember.
  • Payment details. The tools we offer today are free to use, and we do not ask for card or bank information. If paid features are added later, we will say so here first.
  • More of your file than the task needs. We do not index, mine or reuse document content.
  • Access to the rest of your device. Our tools do not need your contacts, calendar, camera roll or microphone.

04Why we use your data

These are the main reasons we use that information today. If we need it for a new purpose, we will describe it here before we rely on that purpose. Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we also have to name a legal basis for each purpose — the right-hand column does that. Elsewhere, the equivalent rules are your consent, our legitimate uses allowed by law, and compliance with legal obligations.

What we use it forPossible basis where the GDPR applies
Running the tool you asked for and returning your resultYour request, or performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b)
Keeping the site secure and spotting abuse, bots and attacksLegitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f)
Fixing errors and improving speed, accuracy and compatibilityLegitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f)
Measuring which tools are used and how well they perform (Google Analytics)Consent where the law requires it for cookies; otherwise legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f)
Answering your messages and meeting legal obligationsLegitimate interests, consent or legal obligation, depending on the request

The exact basis depends on the law that applies to you and on what is being processed. Saying no to optional cookies costs you nothing — the tools behave the same way. Section 07 explains what is in use and how to block it.

05Your files

Some PDFZora tools do their work on your own device. That is how the browser-based utilities behave, and it means the file or the values you enter stay with you. Other tasks need more computing power than a browser can offer, so a copy of the file is sent to our servers, or to a service provider working for us, and the finished result comes back to you.

If a document is sensitive, take a moment to read the tool page first and decide whether you are comfortable with how that tool handles it.

When a file does reach our servers:

  • It travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection, as all traffic to our site does.
  • Processing is largely automated. Access to file content is limited to what is needed to run, maintain, secure or support the service, or to meet a legal obligation.
  • Temporary processing copies on our systems are deleted within one hour (60 minutes) of the task finishing. We do not keep the result once you have downloaded it.
  • A file is used only to carry out the task you asked for. Where one of our service providers does part of that work, it acts on our instructions for that task and nothing else.
  • You keep your rights in the file. You give us only the limited permission we need to process it and hand back your result.
Please download your result

Because temporary copies are cleared automatically, we cannot recover a file you forgot to download — you would simply run the tool again. You remain responsible for the content and legality of what you process, and for having the right to upload it.

06How long we keep data

Temporary copies created for server-side processing are deleted within one hour (60 minutes) of the task finishing. That window covers our own processing copies; it does not describe every record involved. A provider that handled a file for us keeps its own operational records under its own terms, at the retention its service needs.

Like any website, PDFZora and its providers generate ordinary technical and security records. These are kept only as long as they are needed for the purpose they exist for — protecting the service, keeping it running, meeting legal requirements, or resolving a dispute — and they are not used to build a profile of you.

PDFZora does not offer document storage. Where a tool runs inside your browser, the values you enter stay on your device, and preferences such as your theme choice remain in your browser until you clear them.

When you email us, we keep the message as long as we need it to reply and to follow up. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and we will, unless we are required to keep it for a legal reason.

07Cookies and similar technologies

Some cookies are needed for the site to work at all — remembering your preferences, keeping a session secure and serving cached pages quickly. In practice you will see the caching plugin's own cookies, whose names begin with litespeed_, the translation widget's cookie, which remembers the language you picked, and a theme cookie if you switch this page to dark mode.

On top of those, we use Google Analytics to understand which tools get used and how well they perform. It loads with our pages and sets its own cookies, which begin with _ga. If you would rather it did not, you can block or delete those cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker — the tools keep working either way.

PDFZora does not run advertising and does not use advertising cookies. If that changes, we will say so on this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it before any advertising cookie is set.

08Sharing your data, and international transfers

We do not sell personal data. We share a limited amount of information with providers who help us run the site or complete a task you have asked for, and with authorities when the law requires it. Depending on the service involved, those providers may include:

  • Hosting, CDN and caching providers — files during server-side processing, plus the connection data and access logs needed to serve, cache and protect your request.
  • Analytics providers — Google Analytics, which receives the usage and technical information described in section 07.
  • Font and translation services — our page fonts load from Google’s servers, so your IP address reaches Google as the page loads. If you use the on-page translation widget, the text you ask it to translate goes to Google’s translation service.
  • Email and support tools — the message you send us.
  • Authorities and courts — only what a valid legal demand requires, and nothing beyond it.
  • A successor, if the business changes hands — information may transfer as the law allows, with notice where notice is required.

Each provider can use the information only for the work it does for PDFZora. Providers change as the service develops, so we do not treat this page as a fixed list — email us and we will tell you who currently processes what, and where.

Some providers process information outside your country. Where the law requires safeguards for a transfer like that, we put the required safeguards in place. Again, if you want the details for a specific case, ask us.

09How we protect your data

  • Encrypted connections. Traffic to pdfzora.com runs over HTTPS.
  • Limited access. Access to our systems and to information is limited to what is needed to run and support the service.
  • Practical safeguards. We take reasonable steps to protect the site, the tools and the information involved against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. The exact measures differ between systems and providers, and they are reviewed as things change.

If we become aware of a security incident involving personal data, we look into it and notify the people or authorities affected when the law requires us to. Certain kinds of incident also carry separate reporting duties to CERT-In under Indian cybersecurity directions. No online service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise — what we can say is that we take incidents seriously and respond as the rules require.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live, what the law allows and what information is involved, you may be able to ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or nominate someone else to act for you. These rights have limits and exceptions, and they are not identical in every country.

  • EU, EEA and UK. Your rights can include access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
  • California. You may be able to know what we hold, delete it, correct it, receive a copy, and opt out of any sale or sharing — although we do not sell personal data. Complaints can go to the California Privacy Protection Agency or another authority the law names.
  • India. Rights and grievance channels under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and its Rules apply according to what is in force.
  • Anywhere else. Write to us anyway. We will help where we can, and we will say so honestly if a request falls outside what we are able to do.

To make a request, email info@pdfzora.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We reply within the timeframe the applicable law sets — for example, GDPR requests are generally answered within one month, and California requests generally within 45 days, with an extension possible in the circumstances the law allows. If we need an extension, we will tell you why.

We may ask for enough information to verify that a request is genuine, but we do not ask you to send us a document file or a password just to make a privacy request. There is no charge for exercising your rights, and asking us does not affect your access to any tool.

11Children

PDFZora is a general document tool for everyday use. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child.

The age that counts depends on the law that applies. It is generally under 13 in the United States and the United Kingdom, between 13 and 16 in the European Union depending on the country, and under 18 where India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies. The tools do not ask for a date of birth, so we cannot always tell how old a visitor is.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has sent us personal information, email info@pdfzora.com. Tell us what was sent and the email address used, and we will delete what we can identify. Please do not upload a child’s documents to the tools.

12AI features

PDFZora does not offer AI-assisted features today. There is no document chat, summarizer or similar tool on the site. The tools that are live process a file only to carry out the task you asked for, as section 05 describes, and we do not use the content of the documents you upload to train generative AI models.

If that changes

Should we introduce an AI-assisted feature or an AI provider later, we will update this policy before it is offered, so you can see what it processes and how it is used before you decide whether to use it. We would not use an AI feature to make a decision about you that carries legal or similarly significant consequences.

13Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our tools, our providers or the rules change. The “Last updated” date at the top always shows the current version. When a change affects how personal information is handled in a meaningful way, we will give notice on this page before it takes effect — and we will not reduce your rights quietly. Earlier versions are available on request.

?Frequently asked questions

Does PDFZora keep my files, and can anyone see them?

Some tools work on your file inside your browser, and then nothing is sent to us at all. Tools that need server-side processing send a temporary copy, which is deleted within one hour (60 minutes) of the task finishing. Processing is largely automated, and access to file content is limited to what is needed to run, support or secure the service. Download your result when it is ready — once the copy is gone, we cannot bring it back.

Is PDFZora free, and do you sell my data or use my files for ads or AI?

The tools we offer today are free, and you do not need an account or payment details to use them. We do not sell personal data. We do use Google Analytics to see which tools are being used, and section 07 explains how to block it. We do not run advertising. We do not offer AI-assisted features today, and the documents you upload are not used to train generative AI models.

What are my privacy rights, and how do I use them?

What you can ask for depends on where you live. Broadly, you can request a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to some processing, withdraw consent, or nominate someone to act for you. Email info@pdfzora.com with “Privacy request”, and we will reply within the timeframe your law sets — explaining any extension if one applies.

How is my data protected, and who do I contact about privacy?

Traffic to the site runs over HTTPS, and access to systems and information is limited to what the service requires. If a security incident involving personal data occurs, we investigate and notify the people or authorities affected when the law requires it. For anything privacy related, write to info@pdfzora.com — or mark your email “Grievance” and it will be routed to the person who handles complaints.

Questions, feedback, or a tool you wish existed?

Feature ideas, bug reports and general questions are always welcome. Your feedback helps us improve PDFZora and prioritize future tools.
